Perceived safety in physical human–robot interaction—A survey

This review paper focuses on different aspects of perceived safety for a number autonomous physical systems. is major aspect robotics research, as more and applications allow humans systems to share their space, with crucial implications both its perception. The alternative terms used express related concepts (e.g., psychological safety, trust, comfort, stress, fear, anxiety) are listed explained. Then, the available methods assess (i.e., questionnaires, physiological measurements, behavioral assessment, direct input devices) described. Six categories considered (industrial poly-articulated manipulators, indoor mobile robots, humanoid drones, vehicles), providing an overview main themes in specific domain, description selected works, analysis how motion characteristics system influence perception safety. survey also discusses experimental duration location reviewed papers, connection between standards. • Alternative Methods described discussed.
